Notes |
- Came to America from Cork County, Ireland with two known sons, and they had considerable wealth.
Just south of Old Fort, McDowell County, North Carolina stands the Moffitt Hill where the Moffitt clans met for their annual reunion. The would build cabins, stay in them for a few days or weeks, then move on. A few days later, more kinsfolks would move in. This was the time for catching up on the family matters, crops, swapping tales, gossipp, looking for mates among the younger set.
The Old Tabernacle church below Black Mountain was where the Moffitts went to church.
