(September 29, 1927 - April 23, 2012) Robert V. Tucker, age 84, of Newport, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at his home. He was Water Construction Crew Foreman for Newport Utilities from July 1950 until December 1989. He was a Volunteer Fireman and Auxiliary Policeman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardith Tucker and son R. J. Tucker. He is survived by his granddaughter, Renee (Tony) Stempkowski, of Knoxville; great grandchildren, Laila, Alexa and Bridget Stempkowski; grandson, Russell Tucker, of Knoxville; best friend and caregiver Wilma Sprouse, of Newport; daughter-in-law, Sarah Tucker, of Knoxville; also other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tom Mooty officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am Friday, April 27, 2012 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
