Ann Jeanine “Anjie” Spencer, wife, daughter, sister, and friend to so many, found peace Thursday afternoon, September 19, 2002. Mrs. Spencer fought bravely to overcome numerous health-related problems while always maintaining her indelible sense of humor and passion for life. Through it all, her smile could still light any room, and her laughter will forever ring in our ears and in our hearts. Anjie gave so much and asked for so little in return. Even now, she has given us a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to add meaning to her passing. Anjie’s uncanny insight, her loyalty to friends and family, her enduring style and spirit, her wit and wisdom, and especially her tenderness of heart are her legacy and are gifts to be cherished. In all ways, she was and is a phenomenal woman.
Mrs. Spencer is preceded in passing by her grandparents, John “Pete” Eichorn and Betty Eichorn; great-grandparents, Bob and Mildred Hill and mother-in-law, Anna Ruth Devine.
She is survived by her husband and soul mate, Patrick Spencer; her mother, Ann Eichorn; father, Gerald Taylor; Grandmother Taylor; uncle, John Edward “Petie” Eichorn and family; brothers, Chuck Lane, John Lane, and Mark Taylor; sisters, Stacy Fine and Candice Taylor; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Lane, Judy Spencer, and Pamela Roberts and family; brothers-in-law, Darshan Fine and Tommy Spencer and family; nieces, Megan Lane and Kalea Fine; and nephews, Brandon Lane, Kyle Lane, and Joshten Fine.
Mr. and Mrs. Spencer never had children, but Anjie regarded her beloved pets as such: Blackie, Ozzy, Snowball, Samantha, and Ming-Ming. Left to carry on Anjie’s love and light are her extended family of friends, David Hawk, Darryl Longmire, Kip Allen, and Amy Smelcer.
Services for Anjie Spencer will be held at Manes Funeral Home of Newport on Sunday, September 22, 2002. Her family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. with memorial service at 5 p.m. with Father David Garrett officiating. Her interment will be immediately thereafter at Union Cemetery.
Please come celebrate the remarkable spirit and journey of this truly beautiful person. Indeed, her heart will go on.
Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
