Mildred J. Taylor, age 89 of Newport , went to be with her Lord, Monday, April 07, 2008 at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, and retired from Stokely Brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Taylor; father, Mark Jenkins; mother, Sallie Jenkins Taylor; sons Kenneth and Morris Taylor; brothers, Lloyd S. Jenkins and Hugh Taylor; sister, Dorothy Ball; grandchildren, Angie and Moriscene. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Charlene Taylor, of Atlanta, Georgia; Gerald and Charlie Ann Taylor of Newport; brother, Cretis Jenkins of Medina, Ohio; sister, Maryvene Ramsey of Newport; five grandchildren, Candy, Mark, Keith, Janet and Zachery; two great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Larry Wells officiating. The family will receive from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service. Interment will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2008 in Union Cemetery.
