He was a member of Taylor's Grove Baptist Church in Sharps Chapel, Tenn. and a member of Blazing Star Masonic Lodge #455 in Sharps Chapel. He was a driver for Transport Service in Loudon, Tenn. Preceded in death by father, Alfred Relford; grandparents, Tom & Rispy Robinson. Survivors include; wife of 42 years, Carol Rutherford ; sons, Steve & Michael Rutherford of Maryville; daughter, Vickie Rutherford of Knoxville; grandchildren, Allen & wife, Crystal Rutherford of Maynardville, Laura & Matthew Rutherford of Powell, Mary Elizabeth Rutherford of Maryville; great grandchildren, Colton & Carolyne Rutherford of Maynardville; grandmother, Luster Singleton of Knoxville; mother, Maggie Welch of Halls; sister and brother in law, Irene & DeWayne Walker; brother & sister in law, Lawrence & Betty Rutherford all of Corryton; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Pallbearers: Ernie & Erwin Berry, George Relford, David Hickman, Robby Neel, Rick Atkins. Honorary pallbearers; Barney Patton, Robert Welch, John Harris, Joe Dockery, Danny Baker.
