Mrs. Nell Vick Gibson, age 87, passed away on January 9, 2004 at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. She was born and raised in the Fowler’s Grove community and was the oldest member of Fowler’s Grove United Methodist church. Nell lived most of her adult life in Knoxville and was a member of the Friendship Class of the First Church of God. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Lillie Vick; sisters, Willie Kate Allen, Glenna Vick, and Bernice Vick. She is survived by her sisters, Jean Vick Wilson of Newport and Beatrice Vick Moore of Bybee; foster brother and wife, Jim and Pat Linderman of Parrottsville; step-daughters and husbands, Pat and Dillard Johnson of Jonesboro, Polly and Charles Hutchins of Knoxville, and Peggy and Don Haun of Knoxville; nieces and nephews, Eddie and Sue Allen, Tom and Sandra Allen, Annette and Sherrel Ottinger, Joyce Moore, and Vickie Moore; great-nieces and nephews, Cheryl and Wade Lang, Mike and Peggy Ottinger, Todd and Sandy Allen, Melissa and Dale Masoner, Chris and Alicia Allen, and Tommy and Elaine Allen; several great-great nieces and nephews, 13 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2004 at the Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel. Reverend Gerald Clark and Reverend Roy Van Miller will officiate. Interment to be at Fowler’s Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Fowler’s Grove Cemetery Fund, in care of Mrs. Lloyd Moore, 1973 Fowler’s Grove Road, Bybee, TN 37713.
