(August 19, 1934 - March 13, 2008) U.S. Veteran Kenneth Lee Cottrell, age 72, of Walland, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Lanier Open Bible Baptist Church. He was retired from the U.S. Army having served during Vietnam and also retired from the Airport Hilton. Preceded in death by his parents, Lee Albert and Sarah Ann Headrick Cottrell and step grandson, Jimmy Abbott. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Rose “Rosie” Duncan Cottrell; daughter, Regina Wells of Madisonville; step son, Steve Abbott of Maryville; grand daughter, Erica Wells; step grand daughter, Shaunice Abbott, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends will meet 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment service, Rev. Greg Brackin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lanier Open Bible Baptist Church, 2940 Calderwood Hwy, Maryville TN 37801.
