Iva B. Marshall, age 92, of Greeneville passed away Friday, September 3, 2004 at Lakebridge Health Care Center in Johnson City, TN. Ms. Marshall was a homemaker and a retired seamstress and a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church. Ms. Marshall was also a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class for many years at the Reformation Church.
At the time of her death, she was an active member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class at Reformation, as well as the weekly Bible study.
A long time resident of Greeneville, Ms. Marshall completed nursing school at the old Greeneville Hospital. She also served area dress shops as seamstress, including the Nettie Lee Store, Nancy Lynn Fashions, and Alexander Fashions. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Ms. Marshall is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Frank Cunningham of Johnson City, TN; four grandchildren, Laura and Chuck Fleming of Cookeville, Kristin and Rhett Stafford of Charlotte, NC, Scott and Rebecca Cunningham of Limestone, TN, and Steve and Betsy Cunningham of Johnson City, TN; nine great-grandchildren; and five nephews.
Ms. Marshall is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Marshall; her parents, L.A. and Dessie Ottinger Smith; four brothers, Lofton Smith, Jay Smith, Roy Smith, and Cloyd Smith; three sisters, Essie Smith, Alfreda Wardroup, and Louise Blazer.
Funeral services for Ms. Marshall will be Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Reformation Lutheran Church and the interment will follow in the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Reverend Rick Ohsiek and Reverend James Nipper will officiate.
Pallbearers will include Scott Cunningham, Steve Cunningham, Charles Fleming III, Rhett Stafford, Bob Smith, L.V. Smith, Jimmy Wardroup, Ronnie Wardroup, and David Blazer.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 9, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
