Mrs. Frankie Landers McNabb, of Newport, passed away Wednesday morning, December 12, 2001, at Baptist Hospital of Knoxville. She was the fifth of six children born to Amos and Della Ellenburg Landers of Cocke County. Mrs. McNabb was the widow of Walter Allen McNabb, a long-time jeweler in Newport. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. McNabb was preceded in death by her sisters, Elva Sweeten, Dema Sweeten, and Burvalee Messer; and brothers, Denver and Ray Landers. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, John and Pat McNabb, of Newport and Bill and Martha McNabb, of Knoxville; granddaughters, Angie Sutton and Laura Abbott; five great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews. The funeral services will be held Thursday, December 13, 2001, at 8 p.m. in Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Carr officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Friday at Union Cemetery for the 10 a.m. interment service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, December 13, 2001, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home prior to the funeral service. Arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
