McDowells to celebrate 60th Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kenneth McDowell (Betty Jo Henry) are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with their family today. The couple were married in Chatsworth, Ga. in 1948 by J.W. Dooley. The McDowells have three children; Chris McDowell (deceased) and his wife Vickie Baker McDowell of Gatlinburg, Jeff McDowell of Huntsville, Ala., and Missy McDowell-Gingrich and her husband, Carter, of Okinawa, Japan. The McDowells have five grandchildren: Paul, Meredith, Katherine, John, and Benjamin. They also have one foster-granddaughter, Rhonda, and her three sons. Mr. McDowell is retired from Union Carbide. Mrs. McDowell is retired from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce. The McDowells are members of the First Baptist Church of Friendsville.
