Coulters’ 50th Max and Betty (Lawson) Coulter, of Maryville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 21 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. They request that gifts be omitted. The couple were married Aug. 18, 1961, at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Mentor. The Rev. John McGregor officiated. Their family includes sons Mike and wife Jan Coulter, of Maryville, and Bryan and wife Hollie Coulter, of Maryville. They have four grandsons, Brad Coulter, of Ashland, Ky., and Seth, Andrew and Graham Coulter, all of Maryville. Mr. Coulter is retired from Blount County Schools. Mrs. Coulter is a homemaker. They are active members of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Coulter is a member of the Blount County Livestock Association. Both Mr. and Mrs. Coulter enjoy farming.
