Messer - Pittser wedding
Katherine and Christopher wed in August 17 ceremony
Katherine Renee Pittser and Christopher Lee Messer of Newport pledged wedding vows Saturday, August 17, 2013, in an eleven o’clock morning ceremony in Gatlinburg with Minister Travis Tatum of?ciating.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Beth Pittser of Cosby.
She is the granddaughter of Arleen Meister of Gatlinburg and the late Robert Meister, formerly of Glassboro, New Jersey, and of the late Sherri Todd Pittser, formerly of Glassboro, New Jersey, and of the late Ron Pittser, formerly of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The bridegroom is the son of Teresa and Kevin Bennett of Newport and of the late Terry Messer.
He is the grandson of Carroll and Bonnie Masoner and Virgil Messer, all of Newport, and of the late Ila Lee Messer.
Immediate family members joined the couple at Little Log Chapel in Gatlinburg for the candlelight ceremony. Arrangements of white peonies in cream vases lined the aisles.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
For her wedding, she selected a formal strapless ivory gown with chapel-length train. Silver embroidery and silver and pale pink beading adorned the bodice, skirt, and train.
Silver satin lined her bridal veil.
She carried a bouquet fashioned by her mother. Sun?owers and royal blue hydrangeas tied with ivory satin ribbon formed the kissing ball creation.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a luncheon at Calhoun’s of Gatlinburg.
Guests enjoyed servings of a traditional white wedding cake with white butter cream frosting. Decorating the cake were Royal blue ribbon and white roses on the top tier.

Following a honeymoon in Atlantic City,
New Jersey, the newlyweds are residing in Newport.
The bride, a graduate
of Gatlinburg—Pittman High School, Class of 2005 and Tusculum College, Class of 2010, is employed by Jones Media Corporation as a reporter for the Newport Plain Talk.
Mr. Messer, a 2003 graduate of Cocke County High School, is employed by Rusty Wallace Ford in Newport as a salesman.
Pre-nuptial parties included a wedding shower hosted by the bridegroom’s family at his grandmother’s home on August 11. Special food preparation for the occasion was done by his sister-in-law Abby Messer.
