Hall-Cloar wedding held in Greeneville
Alice Anna Cloar of Greeneville and Paul Ray Hall of Knoxville were married Sunday morning, December 2, 2012, in the sanctuary of New Lebanon Baptist Church in Greeneville.
The Reverend Richard Harris of Kingsport officiated.
The sanctuary had been decorated following a Winter in Paris theme with a white wrought-iron wedding arch, standing white wrought-iron candelabras, and a miniature white wrought-iron bistro set.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ivory tiered tulle gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, short train, and black satin sash. She carried a bouquet of ivory Virginia roses and holly tied with black tulle ribbon and wore a black suede bracelet of authentic sleigh bells.
Honor attendants were matron of honor Rebecca Compton and maid of honor Erin Cloar, the bride’s sister. Other bridal attendants were Amber Chapman, Lindsey Dawson, and Misti Whitaker.
They wore cranberry satin gowns, black suede bracelets of sleigh bells, and carried ivory fur muffs adorned by ivory Virginia roses, holly, and black tulle ribbon.
Steven Adams, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.
Groomsmen included Nick Cloar, brother of the bride; Mark Self, the bridegroom’s cousin; Andy Johnson and Cade Long.
Jake Ottinger and Zach Williford, cousins of the bridegroom, were ushers.
Braedon Compton and Savana Jones, cousin of the bride, were junior groomsman and bridesmaid, and Johnathan Lai and Ellie Hensley, cousin of the bride, were ring bearer and ? ower girl.
Savana and Ellie wore ivory tulle gowns with black tulle sashes and matching accessories.
Donna and Tim Bailey lit the Advent candle, and song leader Teresa Whaley, organist Jane Murray, pianist Joan Haun, and ? utist Emily Haun performed Christmas hymns “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day,” “Carol of the Bells,” and “Jesu, Bambino.”
Pastor Nathan Reynolds told “The Story of the Wedding in Cana.”
The wedding party entered to “Christmas Canon in D.” The recessional was Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” from “An American in Paris.”
During the ceremony, the bride recited “The Pledge of Ruth,” and the bridegroom recited “St. Paul’s Admonition to Husbands.” The sand ceremony was used.
Reagan McMillan, cousin of the bridegroom, kept the bride’s book, and Zach Gass, the bride’s cousin, greeted guests and served as master of ceremonies at the reception.
The couple will reside in Knoxville where the bride is a designer for The Kitchen Gallery and the bridegroom is a quality control cable technician for Comcast and leads a missional community group for Fellowship Evangelical Free Church.
