Wedding: Baker/Bewley
Kandice DeMeille Bewley and David Ryan Baker were married at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at Walt Disney World Pavilion.
Pastor Stephen Owenby of Rogersville, Tenn., cousin of the groom, officiated. Music was provided during the ceremony by Disney cast members on the harp, violin and organ. A violinist and harpist performed during the cocktail hour and Mark Zauss & The Street Band provided music for dancing after the brunch.
The bride is the daughter of Kent and Bettye Anne Bewley of Greeneville, Tenn. She is a graduate of Greeneville High School and University of Tennessee and the University of Tennessee College of Law. She is vice president of Bewley Properties Inc. in Greeneville.
The groom is the son of Gary and Vickie Baker of Pigeon Forge, Tenn. He is a graduate of Sevier County High School, Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans. He is an assistant district attorney for the 3rd Judicial District of Tennessee.
The bride chose Jennifer Ann Whitehead of Knoxville as her maid of honor and her mother, Betty Ann Bullard Bewley as her matron of honor. The groom’s sister, Caitline Elizabeth Baker and friends of the bride and groom serves as honor attendants. Flower girls were Eleanor Jessup Baker and Margaret Page Baker, daughters of Joe and Jessi Baker. Their son Joseph Andrew Baker Jr., was ring bearer.
The groom chose his brother, Joe Baker of Johnson City, formerly of Pigeon Forge, as his best man. John Lawson Baker of Pigeon Forge, uncle of the groom, was a groomsman. Ushers were friends of the bride and groom, including the groom’s cousin Logan Baker.
The bride wore her mother’s wedding dress, which was originally worn when the bride’s parents wed in 1973.
The wedding reception was held in the Whitehall Patio and Ballroom and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Epcot, Rue de Paris on the World Showcase lagoon. Pre-wedding parties were given for the bride and groom in Knoxville, Clinton, Greeneville and Seymour, Tenn.; Las Vegas; and Lake Buena Vista and Orlando, Fla.
Weddings guests were from Greeneville, Knoxville, Clinton, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevierville, Newport, Chattanooga, Rogersville and Memphis, Tenn.; Pinehurst, N.C.; New York, N.Y.; Fort Myers and Celebration, Fla.; and Atlanta.
After a honeymoon trip to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Knoxville.
