Pilkingtons' 60th Vestal (Cubbie) and Unav (Cooper) Pilkington, of Greenback, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their grandchildren from 2 to 4 p.m. June 30 at the Hopewell Church Fellowship Hall. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. They request no gifts. The couple were married June 13, 1953, at the Blount County Courthouse. Judge George Roberts officiated. Their family includes children Susan (Jackie) Lovingood, of Friendsville, Jeff (Stella) Pilkington, of Maryville, and the late Randall Pilkington. They have eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, Kenna. Mr. Pilkington is retired as a heavy equipment operator from Operating Engineers. Mrs. Pilkington is retired from Schlegel Manufacturing. They are active members of Hopewell Baptist Church.
