Halls to celebrate 50th anniversary
Joe and Ruby (Clabo) Hall of Townsend will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their family on Jan. 3.
The couple were married Jan. 3, 1957, in Chatsworth, Ga. The Rev. J.W. Dooley officiated.
Their family includes daughters and their spouses, Sharon and Mike Smolka and Pamela and Gregory Johnson. Their grandchildren include Sarah Smolka, Laura Smolka and twin grandsons, Mason and Matthew Johnson, all of Townsend.
Mr. Hall is retired from ALCOA Inc. and is a member of the 25-Year Club. Mrs. Hall is retired as a licensed practical nurse from Blount Memorial Hospital and Dr. Cecil Howard's office.
Mr. Hall has a great love for the mountains and all of nature. He is an avid hunter and enjoys hiking and camping. As a member of the North Shore Cemetery Association in Western North Carolina, he likes to make the annual trips across Fontana Lake to visit the home places and the burial sites of his ancestors. Mrs. Hall's interests include genealogy and reading and serving in her church. She is a member of the Smoky Mountain Historical Association.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Hall love sharing time with their family.
They are members of Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church in Townsend.
