    Arbutus attended Pi Beta Phi School in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and graduated in 1943. She is known for her knowledge of handweaving, warping, quilting, and dollmaking. Her crafts are sold at the site of her home in their shop, Spinning Wheel Crafts, on the Gatlinburg, Tennessee Arts and Crafts Tour.
