Elijah Garton

Notes:

According to the 1830 census there were four Garton families in Lawrence Co.:
Elijah Sr. and wife were 70-80 years; James and Elijah Jr. were 40-5- years;
while Robert was 30-4- years. Elijah Sr. lived at what is now Fayetteville,
Ind., Indian Creek Twp., where as early as 1819 he had a "corn craker" mill
powered by an inclined wheel and a small steer.
