He was in Newberry County, South Carolina in 1790 census. There he bought 200 acres on Kings Creek on 31 July 1792 and sold half of it on 9 January 1793. He moved to Pickens County, South Carolina (then part of Pendleton District) prior to 1800 Census where he is believed to have died. Samuel married Mary Eddins Abt 1771. Mary was born 1 Jul 1754.
