    Notes:

    A James Runyan is shown in the 1850 census as "Physician" age 24 in household
    of Aaron and Ester (Porter) Runyan.
    James died of pneumonia while in the Confrederate Army at Arkansas Post during
    the first year of the the war. His widow and children were burned out by the
    Union soldiers, who allowed them to take only their bedding from the house
    before setting it on fire.

This has a birth date for Nancy J. born Mar. 12, 1828, daughter of Aaron and Ester Porter RUNYAN. This date of birth differs from the grave marking of 1830. Bible date believed correct.

    The Bible of Aaron Runyan married Abigail McMahan lists their children; and does not include a James H. or J.H. as a child, for some unexplained reason. The 1870 census for Sevier County has a James H. (MW age 13) in the H/H of A.A. Runyan (MW 48) and Abligil J. (FW 37). J.H. RUNYAN made his will on March 9, 1908 in Sevier County, mentions his sister Laura NICHOLS and her care during his bad health.

The Family Bible of Aaron and Abigail Runyan has Nancy Susannah born 12 Nov 1860, and N.S. married on 13 Oct 1881, and Nancy S. Henderson died 15 Aug 1888. Original papers of Aaron Runyan, regarding giving equal amounts to his children, mentions both a N.S. Henderson and a S.A. Henderson. This paper and the Bible record are in agreement. The published Runyan book appears to be in error for Nancy S. married to Ashley Wynn.
