1. | Mary Ann Hawthorn was born 12 Mar 1822, , Sevier County, Tennessee. Notes:
Mary Ann Hawthorn was born on her grandfather Richard Ragan's farm on the east
side of the West Fork of Little Pigeon River in the White Oak Flats (now
Gatlinburg), Sevier County, Tennessee.
She moved to Knox County, Tennessee with her parents after her grandfather's
death in 1829. She was listed with her parents in the 1830 Federal Census of
Knox County, Tennessee.
In 1831, her family began the migration to Iowa, reaching New Albany, Floyd
County, Indiana where they had to stop. Here her mother became ill and died.
Later she continued on with her father to Jefferson County, Iowa where they
settled close to Jesse Hawthorn.
