    Accused with brother James of having murdered a man and run off from Blount
    County. Thomas went to Knoxville, Tennessee. No proof was given or found to
    show guilt.

    Notes:

    John Townsend lived on Farm "Roddy of Coco Coca Fame" near eight miles of West
    of Knoxville, toward Ebenezer Station on Southern R. Ry.

    On 27 April 1941 at the age of 65, John Townsend was said to have gone crazy
    killing his brother-in-law Sandord Cruze. He was arrained for trial, but was
    put off until June 11, 1941 held for 1st degree murder.
