    Notes:

    While Samuel was alive these Clarks lived near Williams Grove in Monroe
    Township; from 1865 to 1867 the Widow Clark and her children resided on a farm
    near Shippensburg, Pennsylvania; but on this latter date she moved again to
    Newburg, Hopewell Township, western Cumberland County.

    On 14 June 1860 Mary Ann Clark was appointed Administrix of the Estate of
    Samuel Clark of Monroe Township deceased; bond was for $3000 with James Clark
    as surety.

    Buried in Old Graveyard.

    Notes:

    In 1850 Dr. William Mateer aged 37 years, with real property worth $7000 was
    listed in Upper Dickinson Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; other
    members of his household were his wife Margaret aged 27 and children George
    aged 3 and John aged one year.

    In the 1860 census of Lower Allen Township, Dr. W. Mateer, a physician aged 48
    years, was living next door to A. Mateer, female aged 75 years (his
    mother-in-law). Dr. Mateer's household included his wife M. I. Mateer aged 38
    and three children, G. W. aged 13, J. A. aged 10 and A. H. aged 9 years.

    Letters of Administration on the Estate of William Mateer were granted on 9
    January 1866 to Margaret Mateer; bond was for $600 with John Sprenkle and J. K.
    Leiter as sureties.

    Died at Hampton Sidney College, buried in Silver Spring Cemetery.
