    Birth date 28 March or May 1665.

    Settled with his wife in that part of Dunstable, which was known in 1912 as
    Nashua, New Hampshire, about 1700. He was a worthy man and a valued citizen,
    and was elected to office on many occasions.

    Notes:

    John Harwood served as a soldier in Lovewell's third expidition against the
    Indians, and was killed at Pigwacket, in "Lovewell's Fight." An old ballad
    commemorates this fight, and gives to Ensign John Harwood "a wife and twin
    babes," but no mention is made of wife or children in the settlement of his
    estate by his father not long after his death.
