Together, Wesley and Maggie built a home on Marshall Heights in Sevierville, Tennessee and moved there on 22 February 1922. They lived in on room while they finished their home. P. W. continued to teach and sell pictures. Later he worked for K. Rawling and Co. Still later he operated a Maytag Store of his own on Bruce Street, Sevierville, Tennessee. He was a deacon in the Sevierville Baptist Church.
