    Referand Perimeter Morgan's grandson Fate Morgan once owned the land that is a
    part of Pleasant Gardens. Fate although a very rich man, looked as poor as the
    poorest of all mountain men, yet he was the one who brought elictricity to
    Marion and Old Fort, McDowell County, North Carolina, and the first one to
    introduce commercially made ice cream. His office was dusty, cramped quarters,
    yet if anyone moved his papers he would know it.
