    "John Bunyan Stinnett 'Preacher John Stinnett' was an Old Time Preacher. He carried his Bible in a sack around his neck all of the time. When he plowed his fields he read his Bible. He preached at the Wears Valley Primitive Baptist Church & at the Little Greenbrier School -which also served as a church. He also owned the Water Mill (which no longer stands) on the opposite side of the Little River across from Metcalf Bottoms. People from miles around came to have their flour and corn ground. He and his son both owned farms close by on the Little River. This land is now part of the Smoky Mountains National Park."
