Maud Blazer Dawson, age 87, of Harriman, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Wellington Place in Kingston, TN.
Born August 1, 1915, in Cocke County, TN, but in 1938 moved with her family to the Swan Pond community in Roane County where she lived until moving to Wellington Place in 2001.
Preceded in death by parents, Newton and Sadie Proffitt Blazer; sisters, Grace (Cecil) Ownby and Hazel Hughes; and husband, Mac Dawson.
Employed by both Burlington Hosiery Mill and Harriman City Schools. She was a dedicated member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and attended until a few weeks before her death.
Survived by sisters: Pearle Blaylock and husband, Evert, of Nashville, and Anna Wyatt (Fowler) Gamble, of Harriman; daughter, Anna Seabolt and husband, Skip, of Knoxville; son, Dale Dawson and wife, Pat, of Harriman; grandson, Travis Dawson, of Harriman; granddaughter, Stacy Dawson, of Rockwood; great-grandsons, Kalen and Cody Whittaker, of Rockwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at Kyker Funeral Home, Harriman.
Funeral service immediately following with Rev. Michael Miller officiating.
Interment at Roane Memorial Gardens Friday at 11:00 a.m.
