Onie Ruth Cagle Birchfield Rogers, 82, of Del Rio, went to be with her Lord Thursday, November 14, 2002, in Knoxville. She was a homemaker and a member of New Prospect Church. Her parents, Bob and Finney Cagle; son, Wade Birchfield; sister, Oma Rathbone; brothers, Ottie Cagle, Charles (Love) Cagle, Carson Cagle, Vance Cagle, Datis Cagle, Pless Cagle, and Robert Cagle, Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Howard Birchfield, of Lincolnton, NC; sons, Larry Birchfield and his wife, Gayle, of Del Rio, Darrell Birchfield, of Newport, Michael Birchfield and his wife, Donnia, of Knoxville and daughter, Mary Tabor and her husband, Bud, of Bryson City, NC; sister, Jenny May Mooneyham, of Hartford; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rogers will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral service was Saturday, November 16, 2002, at 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Birchfield and Rev. Dennis Caldwell officiating. Graveside service will be Sunday, November 17, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Clark Cemetery at Deep Gap. The family received friends Saturday evening, November 16, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service.
