(BEN D.) - age 88, of Newport, passed away Thursday Oct. 26, 2000 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Eula C. Stokely of Newport; sons, Ben D. Stokley, Jr. and Lowell Stokely both of Newport; daughter, Janie Stokely of Newport; grandson and his wife, Jake and Mindy Stokely of Savannah, Ga.; brother and his wife, A.J. and Jeanette Stokely of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister and her husband, Janie and Morris Weinberg of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sister in law, Mrs. James R. (Wilma Dykeman) Stokely of Newport; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Newport, with Dr. Rich Lloyd officiating, with burial in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Friday at Manes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to World Hunger, the Salvation Army or your favorite charity.
