PARTON, IRENE H. - age 67, of Seymour, passed away March 1, 1999, at her home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Parton was a native of Sevier County and daughter of the late Asa and Zella Mae Faulk Hicks. She was an employee of Bike Athletic Company and member of Seven Islands Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her son, Benny Parton. She is survived by her loving family: daughter, Deloris Griffin; grandsons and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Michelle Green and Jason Ray Davis; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Anthony Green; former husband and friend, Ben Parton; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Edith Hicks, Arville and Grace Hicks, Bill and Wilma Hicks; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Parton is at Highland South Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., with services at 8 p.m., with Rev. Bill McCarter officiating. Interment at 10 a.m., Thursday at Highland South Cemetery. Pallbearers: Clyde Green, Robert Hicks, J.R. Parton, Joe Romines, Fred Houser and Brad Gibson.
