Julia Kate Wilhoit, age 77, of Jefferson Avenue in Newport, formerly of Greeneville, died Tuesday morning, October 19, 2010 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
She was a retired packer at ConAgra in Newport and a member of Mt. View Disciples of Christ.
Her family stated that she loved taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Janice and Kyle Swatzell of Greeneville, Phyllis Fann of Greeneville, Norma Jean and Randy Ball of Newport; sons and daughter-in-law: Floyd and Sandra Wilhoit of Newport, John Wilhoit of Newport; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lillie and Clyde Willis of Parrottsville, Zura and Junior Huff of Parrottsville; brother and sister-in-law: Rev. Paul and Zola Maye Jennings of Parrottsville; brother-in-law: Boyd Morrow of Greeneville; sisters-in-law: Lucille Wilhoit and Joanne Seaton; son-in-law: Ricky Fann; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Eugene Wilhoit; a son, Ray Eugene Wilhoit; a great-granddaughter, Emily Grace Haney; her parents, John Mark and Hattie Katherine Keller Jennings; sisters: Eveline Hensley Self, Anna Ruth Johnson and Lura Morrow; and her father-in-law and stepmother-in-law, Samuel David and Louise Wilhoit.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Leonard Cutshaw and Rev. Wayne Dalton officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery.
Her pallbearers are her grandsons and Phil Wilhoit, her nephew.
Her honorary pallbearer is Dr. Jill Robinson, who was a long time family doctor and special friend.
