Resided in Pigeon Forge, TN
Verna Ogle McCarter, age 88 of Pigeon Forge, passed peacefully to heaven at her home on December 31st, 2013. Her love, kindness, unselfishness and tremendous sense of humor made her such a very special person to all who were blessed in knowing her.
Waiting to greet her with a joyful reunion in heaven were her husband: Eugene McCarter; daughter, Debbie; father and mother, James Walter & Mary Elizabeth King Ogle; sisters, Cecil Clabo, Polly Trentham, Lona Trentham, Nettie Mae (infant) and Trula Ogle (infant); brothers, Warren, Wesley, Charlie, Kates and McKinley Ogle (infant) ; special nieces Shirley McKay and Midge Tarwater and long-time companion and best friend, her cat, Mindy; and many, many other friends and relatives.
Left to love and miss her until reunited again are: her daughter & son-in-law Darlene and Gary Carr; her grandchildren, Josh and Sarah Carr, who were the loves and lights of her life; special nieces Dianna Farley and husband Johnny, Joyce King and husband Murrell; special nephew Glenn Trentham and his wife Mary, who was a loving surrogate daughter to Mother; nephew Mike Trentham and a host of special friends and extended family. Additional survivors include daughter Debbie's children: Jordan, Rachel and Isaac Taylor.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you honor her memory by giving in some way to someone else. Please give a monetary gift, food or a life necessity; perform an act of kindness or give of yourself; your time and/or attention to a person or organization in need. Any of these things would be a wonderful tribute to her and would make her smile.
A graveside remembrance and interment will be at 2 PM Saturday, January 4th at Pigeon Forge Baptist cemetery with David Walker officiating. A celebration of her life gathering will be held at a later date.
