Margaret "Doris" Brooks , 90, of the Chestnut Hill Community, Dandridge, died Thursday, October 14, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County following a long illness.
She was the widow of Chester F. Brooks and was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frank and Nannie Powers; and daughter, Virginia Ruth Brooks .
She was a member of the Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Martha Dandridge Chapter #438 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Holiday Rambler Campers Club.
Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Shirley French of Dandridge; grandchildren, Mike, Debra, Pat, Barry, Shirley Jean, and Tim; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Mildred Park of Clinton.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Saturday at Farrar's Dandridge chapel with Rev. Lisa Stone officiating. Interment graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2146 Chestnut Hill Church Rd., Dandridge, TN 37725.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday evening prior to services at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge.
Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge, is in charge.
