Barbara Mae Shults, age 57, of Newport, passed away on September 18, 2002 at 1:20 a.m. at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Wilbur Shults, of Newport; mother-in-law, Cora Shults, of Cosby; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Dean Shults and Steward and Nancy Shults, of Newport; Sherrell and June Shults and Alvin and Betty Valentine, of Cosby; sisters-in-law, Lillie Shults, of Cosby; Patricia Shults and Ruth Shults, of Newport. Also several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Steve and Chris Edwards, of Newport. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 19, at 8 p.m. at the Manes Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leon Large officiating. Interment will be on Friday, September 20, at 2 p.m. in the Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
