Of the Baptist faith, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Elvin and Minnie Hurst; her husband, Edgar L. Evans ; three daughters, Phyllis Evans , Winna Mae Smith and Mary Lawson; a son, Bennie Ray Evans ; four sisters and three brothers. Surviving are her loving family, daughters, Sally E. Boling of Seymour and Doris Cooper of Lewisville, NC; a son, Samuel L. Evans of Seymour; 32 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Mrs. Evans is at Highland South Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. with the funeral following the visitation, conducted by Rev. Gary Hatfield.
