Henry Gene Chandler, age 85, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014. A native of Oklahoma, Mr. Chandler was the son of the late Onslow and Mary Turner Chandler. Mr. Chandler was retired from Siemens Co. and was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Barnes Chandler; sons, Alfred Gene Chandler and Henry Glenn Chandler; daughters, Mary Vann, Carol Martin, Donna McDaniel and Judy Harris; brother, O.G. Chandler; sisters, Linda Bagnall and Ruth McElroy; 26 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 25, at 2 p.m. at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The Rev. John Batusic will officiate. Pallbearers will be Waylon Weeks, Andy Harris, Kristen Robinson, Lon Martin, Madison Martin and Randall Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Harris and Bill Murphy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atl. Hwy.
