Melva Martha Rourke was born December 20, 1924, in Enid, OK and passed from this world on September 24, 2010, into the loving arms of God. She was a very loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1944. Melva leaves behind the love of her life, Durward (Dewey) Rourke. Melva and Dewey were very active in past years doing volunteer work for Midwest Regional Hospital, the Science Museum Oklahoma, and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Ingels Clyde Stewart and Edith Viola Stewart; brothers, Ross Stewart and James Stewart; sisters, Florence Gates and Dorothy Poague. She is also survived by her son, Gregory Blankinship and wife Margaret; son, Randy Blankinship and wife Gloria; daughter, Suzy Jones and husband Bob; stepson, Larry Rourke and wife Donna; one sister, Linda Pagel; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank those involved with Mercy Palliative Care and Mercy Hospice for their kindness and support of Melva and her family. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, 4401 W.
