LEWIS Vera Agnes Blankinship Lane Lewis went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 5. She was born September 14, 1915 in Cheek, Ok to Cyrus E. and Beeda Chandler Blankinship who preceded her in death. Vera married Noel E. Lane in 1930 and they had three children Paul J., Leon, and LaVonne. In her extraordinary life she guided her family through the great depression, two wars and became a loved and respected matriarch of her family. Her career included many years of civil service at Tinker Air Force Base, where she served as a parachute packer during WWII and retired as a logistics specialist. Her family's heritage of service was further noted by membership in both the Malcom Hunter Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She served in many executive capacities of the DAR, and volunteered hundreds of hours at Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City. Vera is survived by sons Paul J. and his wife Hettie Lane, Leon and his wife Wanda Lane, and daughter LaVonne Whitney, brothers Alvin and his wife LaDonna Blankinship , Oscar and Ovitt Blankinship . Mom, "Fuzzy," and "Mimi" was loved and cherished and will be greatly missed by her three children, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday February 7, 2002 in the Guardian West Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. GUARDIAN WEST 41 & N. MacArthur 495-9292
