Robert “Bob” White age 85 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2016 at Blount Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Bob was a loving husband and dedicated father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a strong believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Bob faithfully served his church, First Baptist Church Alcoa, for over 60 years as a deacon, Sunday School Director, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, softball coach and bus driver for the Bus Ministry. Bob loved kids and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren every day. Bob was in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. Bob managed White Star Lines Bus Company until it closed, and he then went to work for Maryville Wholesale Supply where he was co-owner, as well as co-owner of Maryville Top Shop. Bob loved his church and his family, always anticipating their needs and providing them with everything they needed without ever wanting recognition. He also enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball at Eagleton for many years. His everyday life showed everyone how a Christian should live.
