LUTHER " LUKE " GARRETSON , 75 of Barboursville, died Jan. 25, 1999 at St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Fred Anderson and Rev. Mark Finley. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born July 31, 1923 in Indian Creek, Boone County, a son of the late Coy and Mary McComas Garretson . He was a retired employee of C & O Reclamation Plant, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard, having served during WW II. He is survived by his wife, Helen Eden Garretson two daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Dale Ashworth of Barboursville, and Brenda and Allen Keefer of Kodak, TN two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jack Garretson of Ona, and Andy and Angie Garretson of West Hamlin, WV three sisters and a brother-in-law, Bertha Keyser of Huntington, Beulah Williams of MI, and Elsie and Al Black of Monroe, MI grandchildren, Christy Ashworth, Robby Ashworth, Amy Ashworth, all of Barboursville, Diana and Michael Hayes of Kodak, TN, Shawn and Jamie Boyle of Sevierville, TN, Lori and Matt Bailey of Milton, Cindi Garretson and Emili Garretson , both of Barboursville, Tara Garretson and Jacob Garretson , both of West Hamlin one great-grandson, his namesake, Luke Bailey of Milton and two special friends and sisters-in-law, Mary Eden and Frances Roma. Friends may call Thursday from Noon until 1 p.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Military graveside services will be conducted by the VFW #9738, Huntington.
