U.S. Veteran Fate Lovin, age 85, of Greenback, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, May 16, 2012, with his family by his side. Fate was a veteran of the Second World War, was a 50 year member of Mountain View Masonic Lodge, and a member of Meadow Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Carrie Mae Lovin; brothers, Ray and Charles Lovin; niece, Sandra Lovin; and brother-in-law, Bill Treadwell. Fate is survived by his wife of 66 years, Minnie Lou Key Lovin; daughters and sons-in-law, June and Ron Headrick and Kay and Doug Thomas; grandchildren, Brian Headrick and fiancé Diane Whetsell, Kristi Headrick Kristy and husband Dave, Matt Graves and wife Kellie, Brad Thomas and wife Mary Beth, Kaci Lovin Isabell and husband Jeremy, and Kayla Dailey and husband Cory; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Leroy Painter, Mary Cagle, and Bernice and Glenn Williams; sisters-in-law, Katherine Lovin, Helen Stephens and husband Russell, and Margaret Treadwell; several nieces and nephews; and several life-long friends. Special thanks to Dr. Britton Bishop and BMH Hospice Care. Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Friday, May 18, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Danny Treadway and Rev. Kenny Tucker officiating. Family and friends will gather 10:00 AM Saturday at Cloyd’s Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery for the interment. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
