Gladys Myers Wallace , of Ocean City , N.J. , peacefully passed away on Dec. 24 , 2013 , at the age of 85. She was born in Cades Cove, Tenn., and in 1934 relocated with her family to Rockford. She attended Porter High School and played on the school's basketball team. While working in Nashville, she met her future husband Bill and moved to Ocean City where she lived for 60 years, but she never lost her southern charm and warmth. She and her husband were owners of Wallace Hardware for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents, Russell Myers and Sallie Williams Myers . Survivors include sons, William Michael Wallace and wife Rosemary, David Russell Wallace and wife Norma; daughter, Dawn Wallace -Wentz and husband Paul; grandchildren, Ian, Billy, Nathan, Richard, Holly, Alex, and Melody; siblings, Annie Myers Ott, John Edgar Myers , Roy L. Myers and wife Joan, Christine Myers Valentine and husband Leroy, Doris Myers Patrick; and several nieces and nephews.
