August 21, 1939 - September 30, 2015
Russell, Clifford Sr., long time east Tennessee country music singer and entertainer, passed away September 30, 2015 at the age of 76 after an extensive illness. Clifford started his musical career in the late 1950's and continued into the early 2000's. He was known for his bluesy, raspy voice and also for the songs that hit the Country Music Charts; "Flowers for The Lady", "An Afternoon of Love", and "She Feels a New Man Tonight". Clifford is preceded in death by daughter, Michelle Russell; sisters, Betty Sue, Eleanor, and Louise. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol Russell; son, Clifford (Butch) Russell, Jr.; daughters, Casey (Jamie) Endicott, Chesney Russell, and Alyson (Steve) Erwin; sisters, Ora Mae Johnson and Mary Elizabeth Russell; grandchildren, Macy Endicott, Aiden and Liam Erwin. The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Highway Sunday, October 4, 2015, from 5:00-7:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 12:00 pm. "But I went chasing after rainbows, just to find a pot of fool's gold…."
