Gladys ( Holt ) Buckner, age 80 of Bybee went to be with her Lord Friday, December 8, 2006 at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. Gladys was a homemaker and was saved at the age of 12 years old and a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church for 68 years, and was a member of Centerview Ruritan Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mose and Nellie (Legg) Holt ; husband, Uyles Buckner; one son, Arther Lee Buckner; daughter-in-law, Betty Jean Buckner; infant brother, Willard Holt also preceded. Gladys is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ruble and Violet Buckner of Newport, Rick Buckner of Bybee and one daughter and son-in-law, Ruby and John M. Shropshire of White Pine; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Wanda Faye Holt of Newport; eight grandchildren, Rod Buckner, Darlene Purkey, Bryan Buckner, Robin Allen, Crystal McNabb, Mark Buckner, Cynthia Buckner and Isaac Buckner; eight great-grandchildren, Josh, Lucas, Brandi, Casey, Travis, Anna Korian and Thomas; two great-great-grandchildren, Breanna and Brayden. Special friends, Bill and Shirley Spears, Bill and Carolyn Dawson and Kathleen Campbell and a host of friends to numerous to count. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Brown Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 10, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Samples and Rev. Robert Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery.
