MCCARTER , MARIE E. age 88, of Monroe, Michigan, passed away August 4, 2012. Survivors: daughters, Carolyn Mitchell of Michigan and Deborah (Jimmy) Madon of Knoxville, TN ; son, Dennis (Mary) Ellison of Kentucky; step sons, John McCarter and Ed (Kathy) McCarter all of Michigan; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; sister, Norma (Earnest) Fultz of Michigan; brothers, Dewey (Bernice) Cunningham and Billy (Annie) Cunningham both of Virginia. The family will receive friends 11:00 am- 12:30 pm Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City, then proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for graveside service at 1:00 pm. www.mynattfh.com

Marie E. McCarter, 88, of Flat Rock, died at 6:45 a.m. Saturday at Fountain View of Monroe.
Friend may call from 11 a.m. until services at 8 p.m. Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home with Rev. Earnest Fultz and Rev. Johnny Bussell officiating. She will then go to Mynatt Funeral Home, Knoxville, Tennessee where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and a graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville with Rev. Dr. Jon Akin officiating.
Marie was born February 18, 1924 in Claiborne County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Edgar and Edith Grace (Williams) Cunningham. She married Columbus “Mac” McCarter in 1964 and he preceded her in death October 1991.
She was a member of Petersburg Missionary Baptist Church.
Marie is survived by a son, Dennis and his wife Mary Ellison of Louisville, Kentucky; two daughters, Carolyn Mitchell of Flat Rock and Deborah and her husband Jimmy Madon of Knoxville, Tennessee; two step-sons, John McCarter and Ed and his wife Kathy McCarter both of Michigan; two brothers, Dewey and his wife Bernice Cunningham of Gibson Station, Virginia and Billy and his wife Annie Cunningham of Lee County, Virginia; a sister, Norma and her husband Rev. Earnest Fultz of Petersburg; six grandchildren, Todd and his wife Julie Mitchell, Kimberly Mitchell and her husband Brian Yates, Christopher and his wife Tammy Madon, Ashley and her husband Jon Akin, Bob Meyers and Kristen and her husband Scott Pachy, eleven grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and two special nephews Greg Monday and Mark Fultz.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Malcolm and George Cunningham; three sisters, Barbara Ayers, Joyce Hammac and Donna Monday and a special son-in-law, Jimmy Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial contributions to be made to Petersburg Missionary Baptist Church, 5009 Sylvania-Petersburg Rd. Petersburg, Michigan 49270.
