Mr. Earl Ray Loveday passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Palo Alto Veteran's Hospital.
A native of Maryville, Tennessee, born on Sept 30, 1928, Mr. Loveday was one of nine children born to Judge Staley and Margaret Loveday. The family moved to California in 1937, where Earl attended school at August Elementary and Stockton High School.
He graduated early to join the United States Air Force in 1948, where he became a staff sergeant in a Mobil Radar Unit. He met his future wife, Charlotte Tramp, on a blind date in July, 1956 and the two were married in February, 1957. They had two children, Debbie and David.
Mr. Loveday owned and operated a cleaning and maintenance business for 15 years; then worked alongside his son in the construction business in later years.
Mr. Loveday is preceded in death by his loving daughter, Debbie Loveday. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Loveday; a son, David and his wife, Deedee; a grandson, Braden, who was his pride and joy; and his siblings: Hazel Waters, Ruth Sunday, Pearl Formway, Wade Loveday and Reba Veenstra along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and great friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 18633 Front Street, Linden California. Visitation will be Monday, March 22, 2010 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California Street, Stockton, California.
Committal will be at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
