Sonny Wayne Denton, age 59, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at his residence.
He was the owner and operator of Denton's Restaurant and Denton's Hallmark for many years and a longtime businessman of the community. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded by his father Charles W. Denton and brother Jerry Denton.
He is survived by his wife Rita Marcum Denton; sons Johnny W. (Dea) Denton and Barry Denton; mother Jean Denton; grandchildren: Madisen Alexandria, Kaylyn Marie, and Waylon Kade Denton; brother Benny (Minnie) Denton; brother-in-law Craig Peak; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010, in Mayes Family Services Downtown Chapel with Rev. Jeff Harvel, Rev. John Dalton, and Rev. Don Holt officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the services.
