Charles Stanley Strickland Jr., 62, of East Peoria passed away at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Fondulac Rehabilitation Care Center in East Peoria. Born Oct. 6, 1950, in Maryville, Tenn., a son of Charles and Marie Strickland Sr., he married Doris Yoder Dec. 1, 1969, in Tennessee, and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Julie (Craig) Mann of Peoria and Shawna (Brent) Spicer of Dalton, Ga.; one son, Charles S. Strickland III of Peoria; one brother, Darrell Strickland of Maryville; four sisters, Kathy (Lester) Baker of Peoria, Judy (Bill) Connor of Alcoa, Tenn., Linda Strickland of Maryville and Carol (Allen) Potter of Walland, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Shane Strickland ; and one brother, Jeff Strickland . Cremation rites were accorded.
