Robert Bernard Mays, age 84, of Seymour, passed away peacefully Friday, February 10, 2012, after a short battle with lung cancer at Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin George Mays and Dora May (Hockenjos) Mays; brothers, Jack, William (Bill), Gene, Dewey Edward (Bud) and Joe Albert (Jay) Mays; sisters; Ella May Ogle and Alice Trent. Survivors include wife, Hilda Rae (Lett) Mays; son, Gary Bernard Mays and wife, Marlene of Powell, Tenn.; stepson, Jesse W. Boling and wife, Pat of Spring City, Tenn.; daughter, Beverlie Katherine Moss and husband, Joel of Maryville; grandsons, Jason Bernard Mays of Brooklyn, N.Y., Robert (Bobby) Johnson Moss, and wife Julie, of Columbia, Md.; John D. Boling and Scott Boling of Georgia; great-grandsons, Nicholas Joel and Casey Joseph of Columbia, Md; granddaughters, Ashley Nicole Mays of Rosemount, Minn., and Andrea Lynn Boling of Georgia; sisters, Dorothy (Dot) Grigsby of Powell, and Joyce Strevel of Knoxville. The family would like to thank everyone at UT Medical Center and Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation Center for all their care and prayers. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 10088, Knoxville, TN 37939, American Cancer Society, 871 N.
